Projects Overview
In India, renewal energy sources consist of those energy sources that are infinite, natural, and restorable. For example, tidal energy, biomass energy, and wind energy are renewable sources of energy.
Currently, some of the important and widely used renewable sources of energy are Biomass comprising of agricultural waste, wind, solar, geothermal heat, and domestic waste or municipal solid waste.
Recognizing its immense value, the Government of India supported by The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), has come forward to support biomass based power plants in a big way throughout the country with fiscal incentives.
In line with the MNRE guidelines, the group ventured in to establishment of Biomass based power projects and established five biomass power projects in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Orissa and two plants in Madhya Pradesh are at Commissioning stage. Four biomass projects, which are in operation have been registered with the UNFCCC to claim Certified Emission Reduction (CERs) for displacement of power by the respective project activities.
